MAY FAVOURITES 2017

The last time I posted the weather was awful; since then someone has turned up the heat in the UK and I am back with May favourites!!

April and May were busy. I feel like I didn't stop with university work; whether that was writing essays, trying to analyse survey data or revising for an exam in parties and elections (how relevant). Now, I have no excuses to get back to blogging and I thought I would bring it back to a basic but a classic; May Favourites!!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Clearing Lotion
Now, back in the day this was a product from the Tea Tree range that I wasn't so keen on. I mean I liked it, but I liked other products better; I never saw a result from using the lotion. However, in about the last 6/7 weeks, I have been using this lotion everyday after cleansing and toning my face and honestly my skin hasn't felt better in a long time. Yes, the tea tree is quite strong, but it has kept them little white heads away. I mean I still got some hormonal spots but I am kinda used to that on my chin, but touch wood since using this, no white heads or horrible red spots have appeared on my face. I personally use this morning and night, and make up doesn't just run off your face, which is great!

La Roche Posay Anthelios Anti Shine Sun Cream Gel SPF50+
Okay, before I start, I have never purchased a suncream for my face before that cost me £16.50, but after reading reviews online and hearing people rave about La Roche Posay sun cream on instagram, I took the plunge and built up some extra Boots Advantage Card points at the same time. I have been using La Roche Posay now for quite some time, as their products really do help with redness and under the skin spots, so when I decided to pick up the sun cream I had quite high hopes. La Roche posay didn't disappoint. In the past I have had face sun creams that just make me skin look even more greasy than it is (damn you oily skin); make up runs off and my pores get blocked. This sun cream doesn't do this. Again, like the Body Shop lotion above I have been using this everyday for about a month or so now, and my skin feels better than it has done in a while. I also love the BB element, meaning I can leave the house without foundation, but still gives me some coverage. If you are thinking about purchasing it for the summer, then go for it!!!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation
After a time of hating this foundation I have found a new love for it, and it is going to be my summer foundation. I went off of True Match for a couple of reasons, one of which is it started to look heavy and cakey; maybe I was putting too much on, but something didn't feel right. However, I have since been using it with a beauty blender, but a dry beauty blender and about two pumps of the foundation and it gives a really flawless coverage. Perhaps when I was first using True Match I wasn't happy with my skin and maybe that was why I was putting too much on to try and get a higher coverage. I don't really know, but I am glad I went back and tried it again.

#MACXFLEURDEFORCE Lipstick
I have been a massive fan of Fleur De Force for a long time; she was one of the first youtuber's that I ever watched, so when she announced her collaboration with MAC I knew I had to pick up the lipstick. It truly is a lovely everyday colour. It is more nude that what I would normally wear. Personally I am more of a pink type of girl, but I really do love this lipstick and can see it being a great staple.

Prison Break
When Prison Break first came out in 2005 I was far too young to watch it. However back in 2014 all four series were on Sky Box Sets (and Netflix) and my mum and I binged watched all the episodes. I also did the same thing the following year, but please don't judge me, okay. So when the news came out that they were going to make a 5th series I was overjoyed. I love this series. Although I did have a lot of questions, which now have seemed to have been answered somehow. Like didn't Micheal die to save Sara? Anyway, I won't give away any spoilers in case you haven't seen it yet.

I'm The One & Despacito
If you know, then you know I am a massive Justin Bieber fan and can we just take a moment to appreciate how he is completely on his game right now. I mean no promo and #1 & #2, like I clearly stan a brilliant person. Anyway I love both songs and will probably be listening to them non stop over the summer.

Chocolate Porridge
Okay this is kinda a weird one, but have you ever tried porridge but with Alpro Chocolate soya milk? It tastes like CoCo Pops milk when you have reached the end and it has become my new favourite thing. It has also made my morning porridge healthier by not adding a heaped tablespoon of jam or nutella. Anyway, go try it!

May has been quite a sad month for some personal reasons but it has also be a great month as well, so I thought I would share some of my favourite moments from May!

  • Finishing my second year of university after what seemed to be a quite okay exam on the 20th May
  • A rather good Mexican food catch up with friends, followed my pier doughnuts
  • Attending the pre departure event for my year abroad - 6th May

What have you been loving in May?
