What Have I been 'Pinning' Lately?

I have this tendency to pin a lot of things to a lot of different boards, even though I know I will never get the things I am pinning. Pinterest for me is somewhere, where I can just pin items that catch my attention. I know a lot of people use Pinterest for inspiration, but I have never gone down that route. However, lately I have been pinning a lot of things related to homeware (and going to America, but that is for another post) as my bedroom is kinda being re down, just not decorated, as a lot of the furniture in my room is old or broken (hi Argos chest a drawers that can't hold anything) so in the summer I will be getting new furniture.

Life Lately

January

January saw me tick of one of my goals from my 2016 wishlist, which was to update/ change my blog theme. This isn't something that I made big thing about, I just changed it one night and ever since then really trying hard to improve the content and the feel of my blog. I also went back to university and actually started using the library as I refused to pay over £60 for a book. However, I have now ended up buying the book, but I do plan to re sell it at a later date.

One of my favourite meals out was at Hudson in Colchester to celebrate one of my flat mates birthday, there was 11 of us and the only ones in there but we created some atmosphere.

Also in January for my Mums and Dads birthday's (yes one is the 25th January and the other 27th January) we all went up to London. We had a really lovely meal at Maxwells in Covent Garden before seeing Miss Saigon at the Theatre. I would highly recommend seeing this musically, especially if you prefer shows with singing and music throughout. Before seeing the show we also stopped off at Charlotte Tilbury, Mac and Foyles, before having a wonder around Soho and China Town.

February has kinda been a month of nothing much really. It has been the month of loads of deadlines, tests and one presentation. As well as frosty mornings and receiving my first every Birchbox.

Over the last two months I have been loving a few things. The first thing that I have been using every single day (well the days I was my hair) is the .... Now it is not a heat protector and it smells kinda weird, but it has made the ends of my hair a lot less dry and given my hair more of a shine. Something else that I have been loving is the Real Techniques makeup sponge, and I finally get the hype over why people love makeup sponges so much. My foundation lasts so much longer and doesn't look cakey at all, which is a huge positive.

4 Websites I Used To Love

I was thinking about this the other day and thought that it would be something different to post about. When I was about 6 or 7, I remember going onto my Dads desktop computer and simply going online to play games. I'm talking about before Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and even MSN and Bebo, I used to love playing games online, like girly games. So I am going to share the 4 games (was going to be 5 but couldn't thing of another one) and websites that I just loved.

Stardoll Paperdoll Heaven
I am so disappointed that this website does not exist how it used to exist. I loved both sides of the website, from dressing up famous celebrities (I even remember when Bieber was added which must have been 2010) to having your own 'doll' with your house, clothes and makeup. I could literally spend hours on this website. One of my favourite things was redecorating the house and then getting your doll all fancy and getting loads of points so you could be on the magazine. Oh how I miss this website. The most annoying thing is, you can't even log in again to see your doll.

Build a Bear
Okay admittedly not my favourite but once I got the hang off it (it really was simple), it was great fun. I loved the fact that it was like a little village and you could wonder around and go into different shops and places. The bear would be exactly the same as the one you just made in the store IRL. It was just fun.

Bratz
This one was the first ever website that I ever became a member of. The said thing is I still remember my password for it and it has to be a good 13 to 14 years since I first went on the website. For me personally I just loved the games, like the love capability game and there was another game that I loved but I honestly can't remember it for the life of me.

Disney
Now I am talking mainly Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I was obsessed with that game, and I wish it was still online because I would still be playing it to this day. There were other games that I used to love on the website as well, I think there was possibly a Hannah Montana game as well but I am not totally sure.

So that was my four websites that I used to loved as a child and probably would still love today if they were still going. Are yours similar to mine, or what other websites did you used to love?

Chloe Love Story

A little over six months ago, when I was waiting in Gatwick Airport for my flight to Italy with my parents, I was just wondering around duty free when I feel in love with the smell of Chloe Love Story. However, I didn't get it. The same thing happened when I was in Italy, a small perfume and beauty shop had the same perfume, (but was do much cheaper than here in the UK) and still didn't get it. My parents remember that I really like the smell of the perfume, well actually I threw in some helpful reminders, and they brought me the gift set for christmas.

The perfume is quite strong, but I am useless at describing the scents of perfumes so here is what Boots described it as:
'Love Story is the marriage of luminous and sensual orange blossom with stephanotis jasmine, the flower of happiness. A sexy, clean floral fragrance. Love Story is a memorable fragrance with true personality.'

At the moment this is one of my go to scents. I actually prefer to wear it during the day rather in the evening but I just feel that it is such a lovely perfume that you can honestly wear it at any time of the day.

Plus, this perfume looks so gorgeous on my shelves at university, it is just so pleasing to look at.

You can buy Love Story from Boots, The Perfume Shop and Debenhams.

A Mini MAC Haul

A couple of weeks ago I went to London for my mums birthday and I happened to pop into the MAC store in Covent Garden. I kinda planned to go in there anyway, as I had a gift card, and when buying make up I like to buy it in person rather than ordering online, especially with lipsticks.

I only picked up two products and both of which are lipsticks and are both matt lipsticks. However, they are both very different colours, for a change. The first lipstick I picked up is something slightly out of my comfort zone but was one that was on my wish list is, 'D for Danger'. D for Danger is what MAC describes as a 'brick red'. I only own one other red lipstick from MAC as I normally only stick to the pinky/nudes. I am yet to actually wear this lipstick, but there maybe a review of this in the near future.

The next lipstick I brought was one that is fairly hyped up, which is 'Mehr'. Yet again this was also on my wish list, but I wasn't out to look for it. I don't know if this ever happen to you in MAC as well, you see a lipstick that you like and pick it and then look at the name and it is actually the one you want. Well that happened to me. I have really been loving this shade. It is quite long lasting and if you build it up, it can create quite a bold lip as well.

My Current Go-To Lipsticks

Does anyone else feel undressed with no lipstick on? Well, thats me. If I leave the house with no lipstick on, I feel incomplete and then it will just bug me for the rest of the day until I can get my hands on a lipstick and pop it on. At the moment I have had a thing for three lipsticks: MAC Velvet Teddy, MAC Fast Play and L'oreal 376. Honestly, I don't thing I have worn hardly any other shade this month (although Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have popped up a few times and the odd Tanya Burr lipgloss as well).

Velvet Teddy is a fairly new addition to my MAC collection of lipsticks, I got it just before christmas and I've probably worn it over 20 times since I purchased it (well actually my mum did, so thank you mum!)  I can understand why people hype about it so much. For me its the perfect 'your lips but better shade', although sometimes I like to wear a gloss over the top to just give it a little something else. The only thing I do find is that I find myself reapplying it a few times during the day, but apart from that I love it.

Next up is MAC Fast Play. I actually did a post about this lipstick a while back now (check it out here), at the beginning I was a bit like I don't know if I like this or not, but I then got back into it after watching one of Lilly Pebbles videos where I think she was wearing it or at least talking about it. Since then I have re fallen in love with this lipstick. It is darker than Velvet teddy, but I still really love it.

Finally is the one that goes off the trail from my normal nude colour lipsticks, and is 376 from L'oreal. Now it is no secret that I love L'oreal lipsticks, in fact the brand is one of my favourite drugstore products from their lipsticks.  It is almost a red but with purple undertones and it really is easy to wear. The only thing I would say that I don't like is that it kinda goes a bit everywhere but as long as you look in a mirror you are fine.

There you have it, my current go to lipsticks. Do you have any go to lipsticks at the moment?

My Evening Skin Care Routine

Without fail I always try to do my skin care routine at night, because I know if I don't I will regret it in the morning. All it takes is between five and 10 minutes before I go to bed to just look after my skin. I have to admit, my evening skincare routine has only recently improved. I used to be quite lazy when it came to skincare, although I have had trouble with spots and oily skin over the years. However, now I have found a routine that I actually like and a routine that in my opinion is easy.

The first thing I do is use the Emma Hardie 'Amazing Face: Mooring Cleansing Balm' to remove all the dirt and makeup off of my face. I found that my face feels a lot cleaner when using a face cloth to remove my make up, which is why I use this product at night, to just remove everything. I do also tend to them go in with the Boots Eye Make Up Remover Gel, just to get any bits of mascara off, that I may have missed with the cloth. If I don't do this, then 9 out of 10 times I will still end up with panda eyes.

After making sure all my make up is off, I then use a toner. My toner at choice for my evening routine is different from my morning routine, and I like to use The Body Shop 'Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner'. This is quite strong and can leave me a bit red and can sting, thats why I use it in the evening. It is great for removing ant of bits of make up that are quite stubborn to get rid off.

I then apply Witch 'Overnight Clearing Serum' to the whole of my face. I only use a tiny bit as it goes such a long way. I have noticed that since I have started to use this products any redness that I might have had on the top of my checks near my nose have disappeared. After applying the serum I then go in with my eye cream from Origins, and gently apply this my under eyes.

If I happen to have any blemishes or spots on my face that have just come up, or I feel like they are going to come up I then put a generous amount of The Body Shop 'Tea Tree: Blemish Fade Night Lotion'. This stuff is amazing at getting rid of spots, it really does reduce them.

The last thing I do to my face after brushing my teeth, is to apply the strawberry version of the Cramex Lip Balm. This is one of my go to lip balms and honestly I love it.

Right before bed, I will then apply some hand cream and some foot cream.

What Is your evening skin care routine?

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon

About a year ago or maybe just over I was watching someone on Youtubes 'What I Got For Christmas' video, and they happened to get a few of the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eye shadow sticks. Since then they have always been on my beauty wish list. In all honesty I probably wouldn't have normally picked one up, I might have asked for one for christmas or my birthday, but never go out and pick a colour up myself.

Last Wednesday I went to London for my Mums Birthday and we just happened to be right by the Charlotte Tilbury Store in Covent Garden and one may have taken a visit inside. I had no attention of buying anything, I just wanted to go in for a look around. However, that 'I will just look around quickly' lead to us being in there just around 45 minutes. Yes, 45 minutes! That is because a one of their make up artists applied the Colour Chameleon on me and re done my eye make up and also applied basically a full face of make up on my Mum as well. The service in there was brilliant, even though it was busy in there. I would defiantly recommend you going in there and if you have time, let a make up artist try something out on you. It is worth it.

My mum brought the mascara and I then brought the Colour Chameleon in 'Bronzed Garnet', which is the colour for green eyes. The really great thing about this eye shadow pencil, is that you do not need to apply it perfectly. Just scribble a bit on and then blend it together with either a brush or your fingers, and it creates a effortless look which is so simple and easy to create. Also, this product lasts. i think I had it on for about 9 hours and it didn't move anywhere, which is something that I really like in an eyeshadow, especially when you haven't used any eye shadow primer.

The colour is so beautiful and if you have green eyes, it really does make the pop and stand out. It makes your eyes look open. I am sure the rest of the range does as well, no matter what your eye colour.

I know I will probably be repurchasing this in the future and getting some other colours from the collection as well.

Have you tried out any of the colours from the range?
