What I Got for Christmas 2015!!

Hi Guys!

I hope you all had a great christmas and had amazing food, I know I did. I have decided to share what I got for christmas, simply because I love these posts. This post is not a boast about what I got or anything like that, I just simply like reading these posts and I like to look back at what I got in previous years as well. Enjoy!

Stocking Fillers:

I may be 18 but I still love opening my stocking presents. It is almost a tradition that on christmas morning I will open my stocking presents in my parents rooms, and nothing has changed this year either. This year I got a few things from Tanya Burrs cosmetic line, in which I used the bronzer and blush on christmas day. Benefit Roller Lash also made an appearance, but my mum did buy this in front of me so I knew I was going to get that. I also had a few L'oreal lipsticks in there as well in some really nice nude colours which will be great for during the day. My mum also picked me up so Eylure fake eyelashes, so I could wear them on christmas day. Other stocking fillers included Apple Earphones (which actually came with my upgrade a month or so a go), Boots eye make up remover, Jack Wills coin purse, Jack Wills pen, and a little handbag diary.

Under The Tree:

This year we really did spread out when we open presents. We opened most before the main christmas dinner and the rest in the evening, we never have been a family to open all our presents at 6am in the morning, even when I was younger and as I am an only child it kinda has always been that we open presents at about midday ish. My main present was my iPhone 6s, which I actually got about 3 weeks ago as my mum didn't want me to be without a phone. I also got quite a lot of other stuff as well, which I was not expecting. The biggest surprise was Chloe Love Story Perfume gift set, which I has literally no idea that I was getting, but I had been hinting at it since the beginning of June. Other gifts included a Soap & Glory Set, Jack Wills Gift Set, Socks, Justin Bieber Calendar, Justin Bieber The Key Perfume, a coat from Topshop and some DVDS.

Also sitting under the tree was the Urban Decay Smoky Palette, which I kinda knew I was getting because I just keep hinting and hinting about this before it even came out. Another beauty present was the Benefit Party gift set as well.

Blogmas Day 24: The Christmas Tag

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 24!!!

So as it is christmas tomorrow I am doing the christmas tag this

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
The Santa Clause & The Holiday. I absolutely love The Holiday, like I watch that film every single year and I could easily watch it right now.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Niether. I am normally open my stocking on christmas morning. Then we open all the presents at about 1pm ish. This is normally between starters and the main or after the main meal.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
The memory that stands out the most for me was coming down stairs one christmas morning when I was about 6. There was this massive box just standing in the middle of the lounge and it was my first TV.

4. Favourite festive food?
Sausage rolls, more recently home made mince pies and salmon with cream cheese.

5. Favourite christmas gift?
Something that is thoughtful and that the person has actually put effort into. My favourite gift that I have probably ever received, well that one that stands out to me the most my Justin Bieber My World Tickets (even though I already knew about them) or another Justin Bieber gift of a signed certificate, Under the Mistletoe and Beats headphones which were limited edition from his website.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
mixed spice and cinnamon

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
We normally go to church about 6pm and then normally go round friends.

8. What tops your tree?
A star.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I actually can't remember. It was probably something to do with Barbie or Bratz or some toy, but nothing really stands out to me. Oh or maybe I asked to go to Disney World Florida, I remember asking when I was younger all the time but still never been.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Christmas dinner with the stuffing, pigs in blankets, mulled wine with it, Yorkshire puddings. It's making me hungry and excited just writing this.

Blogmas Day 23: Quick & Easy Last minute Presents

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 23!

So Christmas Day is in two days time, and you are going to see family and friends and for some reason you are yet to buy them a present, but don't just want to give them a boring box of chocolate or a gift card from your local supermarket. You actually want it to seem like you have put some effort into the present, when in reality you haven't. So I have decided to post 4 super easy, super quick and super (well kinda) cheap last minute presents.

1.  A Box of Treats
This is very similar to my a couple of my homemade presents, however this one you set a price limit, say £5 or £10, and you just go to one shop (could be a supermarket or superdrug or wherever) and pick 3 or 4 gifts. Now, you could ever put them in a box, or if you are like me and keep christmas gift bags that people have given you over the years, then put them in one of them, so you don't even have to wrap them up. Also, you will probably have some sweets or some chocolate in your house of some sort, add a couple of them to the bag, with some tissue paper and you are done.

An example of what you could include:
  • nail polish
  • lipstick
  • nail polish remover
  • cotton wool
  • mirror
  • Mug
  • Coffee / Tea
  • Small box of biscuits

2.  Baking Kit
Okay, this only works if you know they love to bake or they do actually bake things. So all you will need is:
  • cupcake cases
  • a range of cake decorations
  • wooden spoon
  • icing sugar
Then if you want you can put them neatly into a bag or a box, and even personalise them if you have time.

3. A Gift Card in Sweets
Yes I know I said the you may not want to get a gift card, but if you give it in a cleaver way then it can come off that you have actually put some thought into it.

All you will need:
  • gift card
  • jar
  • sweets
4. CD/ DVD / GAME Set
So if you are thinking of buying a last minute present of a CD or a DVD, then why not spice it up by adding on some extra items. For example, with a DVD, buy some popcorn, some sweets, their favourite drink.

Blogmas Day 21: 1 Year of blogging

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 21!

I honestly can not believe that today is exactly a year since my first ever blog post on this blog, it has honestly gone so fast. Well, 2015 has gone so fast as well. So as my blog is now a year old, I have decided to take a look back at all my posts from the last year and pick out my favourite posts, these are in no particular order.

1. 'A Little Beauty Haul'
This was one of my first beauty hauls on my blog and I love it. I think it helps that I love all the products in the haul and I was really excited to try them all out (especially the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick).
2. Updated MAC Lipstick Collection
I so much prefer this post compared to the original, probably because the photos are slightly better quality. I personally love posts like this and I think thats why I decided to write a blog post about my own collection.
3. Italy Photobook
This post brings back so many memories from the summer, and it will be a post that I will probably look back at quite a bit.
4. Baking Corner: Cookies
These are honestly one of my favourite things to make, so I am so glad I decided to write the recipe down and write a blog post about it because I know it will always be here.
5. November Favourites 2015
I just feel like this is my favourite favourites since starting my blog. I don't know if its because its the most recent but I just really like it.

I never thought I would actually blog and keep it going for a whole year, so I am actually really proud of myself for keeping it for the year. I know that I have missed a few posts here and then but I have been quite consistent (well I think so anyway).
I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog over the last year, and I hope you keep enjoying reading it!

Blogmas Day 20: The Winter Wonderland Tag

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 20!!

At this point in time England doesn't exactly feel very wintery, I mean there has not been one frost where I live and the average temperature is about 10C. Normally, there is plenty of cold weather by now (I should know as up to this point last year I was still doing a paper round), so I have decided to make my blog a bit more wintery and decided to do the 'Winter Wonderland Tag'!

1. Favoruite Thing About Winter?
Them days were it is quite chilly but the sun is shinning and you can just do things, like go out for days and not be stuck in because of the rain or the snow.
2. Scarves or Beanies?
I do not suit beanies and I love scarves, so I guess scarves.
3. Favourite Holiday Movie?
The Holiday
4. Favourite Winter Nail Polish?
Essie fishnet stocking
5. Favourite Starbucks Holiday Drink?
I am not a huge fan of Starbucks, I am more of a Costa type of girl. I did try one of the almond hot chocolate and quite frankly it was too sickly. However, from costa I LOVE the Black Forest Gateau Hot Chocolate.
6. What are your top 3 winter essentials?
Lip Balm, Hand Cream and a Big coat.
7. Name one item on your wishlist this year?
Anything from Charlotte Tilbury or Benefit
8. Favourite Holiday Song?
I have quite a few but at the moment Christmas Love by Justin Bieber.
9. Must Have Winter Lip Product?
Carmex lip balm.
10. Have you ever had a white christmas where you live?
No, but I live in the South East of England and the last time we got snow was like 4 years ago or something.

Blogmas Day 18: A Day In Cambridge

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 18!

On Wednesday me and my best friend decided to go to Cambridge for the day, as neither of us had been in a long time. Apart from the trains being delayed and them missing a connection (thanks to the damn Norwich train), it was such a good day. Most of the photos were taken late afternoon, hence the darkness, as by the time we had actually got to Cambridge and eaten it was like half 3.
One of the things I love about Cambridge is all the independent shops. We actually only went into two shops (although Space NK was calling my name, but I resisted the urge), which were a lovely sweet shop called 'Hardys' and a massive book shop.
Cambridge is honestly a beautiful place, whether you go for the history and to the see the University and the churches or to go shopping.

Blogmas Day 17: Homemade Christmas Presents

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 17!

Today is day 4 of my christmas recipe week and today I though I would mix it up a bit by adding some recipes and some cute diy gifts as well!

1. Hot Chocolate in a Jar
This gift is super easy, and cheap, which is perfect if you are on a budget!

All you will need is:
  • A Jar or a Mug
  • Ribbon
  • Hot chocolate powder or hot chocolate sachets
  • mini marshmellows
  • celebrations or quality street or any other chocolates
  • candy cane

2. Gingerbread Stars
If you have been following my blogmas this month, then you would have already had seen the recipe for this, but if not I am going to leave the recipe here for you!

All you will need is:
  • butter 110g
  • 100g Sugar
  • 30g Brown sugar
  • golden syrup
  • 180g of plain flour
  • 130g of self raising flour
  • ginger
  • bicarbonate of soda
  • icing
  • decorations
  • ribbon
  • cellophane

3. The 'essentials' Box
This is a gift that I gave to my Dad last year, as I knew that all the products instead the box where products that he actually uses. Sometimes this is better than buying the gift sets already, as 1) they can be over priced and 2) they may actually not like the products nor use them

Here are some ideas: (female/male)

  • deodrant
  • shower gel
  • body lotion
  • shampoo
  • conditioner
  • gel / hairspray
  • dry shampoo
  • nail varnish
  • hair bands / hair grips
  • nail polish remover
  • face wipes
  • eye cream
  • face wash / cleanser
  • face mask
  • moisturiser (body / face)

4. Cushion Cover
If you want to do something that is a bit more creative this year, then why that create a cute cushion cover. Personally, this works best if you have a sewing machine, but if you want a photo on it, then you go on a range of different websites and order one online

5. Biscuit Box / Chocolate Box
Now this a great idea if you know that the person you are giving these to loves biscuits or chocolate, or you don't have a clue what to get them and are on a budget.

All you will need:
  • Box
  • tissue paper
  • ribbon
  • cellophane
  • a range of home made biscuits (gingerbread stars, shortbread, christmas trees,  melting snowman, cheese etc)
  • a range of chocolates (celebrations, their favourite chocolate, chocolate orange, chocolate pine cones etc)
  • candy canes
  • other sweets or even some fruit

Blogmas Day 16: Party Food and Christmas Snacks

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 16!

Today is day 3 of my christmas recipe week and todays recipe is based on the savoury snacks which can also double up as party food.

Sausage Rolls:
Homemade sausage rolls are always going to be better than shop brought sausage rolls, plus they are super simple to make.

All you will need:
- Half a block of puff pastry
- sausage meat (use as much or as little as you personally want)
- 1 egg

The 'How To' Part:

1) Pre heat the oven to 180. Then on a baking try you can either grease it with butter or just put a piece of baking paper on a baking tray.

2) Roll out the pastry till it is about the thickness of a 50p piece. The cut it length wise in stripes. The stripes should be about 10cm wide.

3) In the middle of each piece place sausage meat down the centre.

4) After wishing the egg, use the egg as a 'glue', and glaze down one edge of the pastry. Then fold the pastry over, to create a seal around the meat.

5) Cut up each roll, the rolls should be about 5cm long each. The place on a baking tray.

6) Cook for about 25- 30 minutes.

Blogmas Day 15: Beauty Haul

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 15!

Boots at the moment have some great christmas deals on make up. L'oreal, Soap & Glory, Boujois and Max Factor all have deals on where you spend £15 and you get a box of make up for free. I normally buy my make up from superdrug because I get student discount in store, whereas I only get student discount online for boots, so superdrug is just easier. However, when I saw that Boots were doing this offer I decided to pop into boots. I didn't actually get that much as I only need my foundation and my mum also got a foundation so I could get the free make up.

I picked up my favourite foundation at the moment which is the L'oreal Infallible 24 hour matte in rose beige. I used to use l'oreal true match but I don't know what it is about it I have just gone off it and it slightly to dark for me at the moment as well. I love the coverage this foundation gives and it lasts. I actually quite like the matte finish to it as well, because it doesn't look that matte on my skin but I do have quite oily skin so that might be a reason for that. Also, it is really good at covering up redness and spots. I suffer with breakouts and recently redness as well but thats mainly where the spots are on my chin.

So because I brought two foundations from L'oreal I got the free gift. The free gift includes full size products of:
- Superliner (Black)
- Mega Volume Collagene Mascara (Black)
- Eyeshadow Quad ( Jungle Jade)
- Nail Varnish (Feline Sauvage)

Personally I probably wouldn't have normally picked up these products but I actually really like the eyeliner. If you read my November favourites you would have known that I have just started wearing eyeliner again and thats because I really like felt tip eyeliners, which this L'oreal one is. It stays for most of the day and it is waterproof so it doesn't run down your face or anything like that.

When it comes to the eyeshadow quad and the nail varnish i'm not sure exactly how much use I will get out of them, as I don't really like green. However, after trying out some of the green nail varnish I actually really like it and I will probably be wearing in the early months of next year. In terms of the eyeshadow quad two of them are quite glittery which will look really pretty in a smoky eye for the christmas period and the lighter shade will look really nice either in the inner corner or to highlight the brow bone. I'm not really sure about the green colour but I might just have to experiment with that one.

I haven't tried out the mascara yet, but I do normally like L'oreal mascaras so I hope it lives up to my expectations.

Blogmas Day 14: Mince Pies

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 14!

There is nothing better than christmas treats to get you in a christmas mood, whether its a cold evening, or making food for friends coming round, or even christmas day treats. Food and home made backing feels extremely christmassy. All this week I will be sharing with your christmas food ideas that are all super easy to make. First up is mince pies!!

Mince Pies

When I was younger I used to hate mince pies, like I honestly could not stand them. However, after making them in food tech in like year 8 I now really like them, but for me they are at their best when they are homemade. My recipe is simple and easy and if you want to add a few things in them go for it!

All you will need:

- Short crust pastry
- mince meat
- 1 egg
- mild spice
- Baileys (You don't have to use alcohol it you don't want to, but if you do you can pick up miniatures in most supermarkets instead of buying a huge bottle for like £20)

The 'How To Part':

1) Dust some floor over your kitchen top or rolling board (are they what they are called, i'm not sure), this will just help to stop the pastry from sticking. Then just roll out your pastry till its about the thickness of a £1 coin.

2) Get two cutters (Big and Small), I like to use stars but you can use what ever you like. Simply just cut out about 12 bottoms (big cutters) and 12 tops (small cutters). Also, make sure you have greased a cupcake tray so the mince pies are easy to get out and then put the big shapes into the cupcake spaces.

3) In a bowl mix the mince meat and anything optional you want to add (spice, fruit, alcohol etc) and mix it together. Once it is all mixed add the mixtures to the big shapes in the cake tray.

4) Once the mixture is in all of the spaces, glaze the top of the mixture and any exposing pastry with a whisked egg to help the top stick to the rest of the pie.

5) Place the small shape on top of each pie. Then glaze the mince pies with egg and add a sprinkling of sugar.

6) Cook in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes at 180.

7) Serve them hot with cream or ice cream or let them cool.

Blogmas Day 11: Beauty Gift Guide

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 11!

If you are looking to buy last minute beauty gifts for a friend, a family member etc, then I have picked out some of my favourites this year. Now, you may have already done your Christmas shopping but if you haven't then this may help you out.

The Palette Lover:
If you are buying for someone who loves their eyeshadows and their palettes, but maybe doesn't have a huge collection then this is a great gift. Also, if you do not have a clue what to get someone but have a budget of about £25 then a cheaper palette would be a great idea.

Urban Decay Naked Palettes - £38
Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette - £40
Zoeva Palette (smoky, naturally yours, rose gold, cocoa blend etc) - £15.50
Too Faced Natural Eye - £26

All About the Eyes:
I personally feel that a good eyeliner or mascara is perfect for any girl, and this is coming from someone who hardly wears eyeliner. This year there are some lovely gifts out there from YSL to Urban Decay, you are sure to find something.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil Set - £25
MAC Enchanted eve eye bag - £39.50
YSL Mascara christmas gift set - £25
Topshop Smokey eye - £12

Obsessed with Lipsticks:
Lipsticks can be dreamy and a small little present that can bring so much joy (currently daydreaming about Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks right now), therefore they are such a great gift.

Charlotte Tilbury 'The Perfect Kiss' - £49
Claris Beauty Essentials Christmas Gift Set - £29
NARS 'A Womens Face' - £29
Any MAC lipstick - £15.50

Taking Care of Your Skin:
Most women love to take care of their skin and a christmas gift set is a great way to introduce people to different brands to help them explore a bit more and find some more products which they could really love. You could also gift someone skin care from a brand that you already know they love and use.

Elemis Radient Moment Christmas Gift Set - £39.90
Ola Henriksen Fab 5 - £35
Origins Moisture and be Merry Gift Set - £45
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Christmas Edition - £20.75

Blogmas Day 10: Christmas Jumpers!

Hi Guys and Welcome to Blogmas Day 10!

Even if you hate the idea of a christmas jumper or love them to pieces, you will probably still find yourself in one sometime near or on christmas day. Here I have picked out 16 christmas jumpers for people who love them to people who don't really want to wear one.

Boohoo always do some lovely christmas jumpers that especially if you are on a budget or only need a christmas jumper for work or an event and you don't want to be paying nearly £40 for one from ASOS, then Boohoo is your place.

My Picks:

If you are looking for a jumper with some writing on but nothing rude or that can be taken the wrong way, then New Look have some good ones for you. One of my favourites has 'Sparkle All The Way' in gold on the front. I have not included photos as they just went blurry, but if you want to check out my New Look picks then click here

I love DP's christmas jumper selection this year and it al started when I had to cover shift in DP a few weeks ago (I work in Burtons upstairs) and I was eyeing up the christmas jumpers from behind the till. My personal favourite is 'Express you Elf' as it is simple but has glitter on it and doesn't shut christmas in your face. To see more of my DP picks click here

ASOS is the place to go if you are looking on spending a bit more, and for the money you can get some lovely jumpers. My personal favourite is the jumper with the snowflakes all over it (okay it has three gold snowflakes but still) and it just looks so cosy. I have also picked out a few more, which you can check out here
